We've recently added Parking Eye at the Derwent Arms to improve our guest experience. Please ensure you register your details in the terminal when you next visit.
This Christmas we are your home for festive cheer. We’re bringing all the sparkle, all the flavour and all the feels. Whether it’s a work’s do, a catch-up with mates or a festive family feast, our pub is where Christmas truly feels like home.
Soak up our friendly service and homely charm in the Yorkshire town of Norton, just across the River Derwent from Malton. Our beautiful pub dates back to the early 19th Century when it was the New Inn, later becoming the Royal Oak and finally the Derwent Arms! We’re the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy our delicious menu with your favourite drink in hand.
We’re proud to offer a menu packed with the most appetising dishes. Our passion for taking traditional pub classics and making them the best around by using the most decadent of ingredients, makes every meal served have you coming back time and time again!

Join us for a fleeting cocktail with a friend, a quiet pint at the bar, or celebrate the big occasion and start your weekend with high spirits. No matter what you fancy, we’ll have something to tickle your tastebuds every time.
The Derwent Arms is host to extensive outside areas with a paved patio to the front and a covered beer terrace to the rear, so no matter the season, our spaces are ready to welcome you.

A little thing I did just over three years ago has yet again been copied & posted all over socials by other pubs 🤨
However if these people can’t think of their own ideas to market their pubs then it must be a decent one & let’s sit back and think- that’s my work 👌🏼… Anyway, here’s the original one I wrote back in 2022…
I’ve gone downstairs this morning to open the pub and realised just how close to winter we really are… The pub was cold & I remembered what I heard someone say the other night
‘It’s cheaper to come for a couple of pints where it’s warm than to put the gas on every night to sit alone inside’
What an awfully upsetting but true thing. Energy bills have soared recently which has brought on the whole ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ again.
You can’t tell me we don’t all deserve to be warm & dry without the worry of the cost?
Our doors are open from 12pm 7 days a week, we’ve got a lovely clean, dry & warm pub which sieves both alcohol, soft drinks & food.
We are’nt just a pub, we want to be seen as a community hub.
We want to be somewhere you can walk into, always see a familiar face & where it’s warm enough you don’t have to leave your coat on.
Let’s spread the warmth. We all have a right to it without the worry of the costs don’t we?

Update on the tree… It looks like Santa’s little helpers dropped into the pub for a quiet Sunday pint however they’d not quite finished working yet 👀😅🎄
Ps. Think it’s safe to say it’s a big’un this year & I’ll be getting a few jabs off this lot when we’re home 🫣

Atleast we’ve got 2 weeks from today to decorate the pub with paint & Christmas decorations, get the beast out up out the front & sort the lights out for the tree switch on 😅😍

We’d just like to apologise for the horrid weather we seemed to have escaped back home 🫣☀️
However, the food isn’t the standards you can get back at home especially at the pub 😮💨

It’s lunch club 12-5pm for a tenner & that includes a drink, 3 bar snacks for under £15 & the heatings on too so it’ll be a warm welcome with even warmer smiles serving you too ❤️
